Das Fotobuch „Maldives – an alternative impression“ von Svenja Liebert (@svenja_design) befasst sich mit den Malediven. Es ist eine Reise von der analogen Vergangenheit in die digitale Gegenwart. Von den schönen Urlaubsbildern hin zur Schattenseite.

Da Touristen meist nur das Paradies vor Augen haben, zeigt das Fotobuch, dass es auch andere Seiten gibt. Was sonst für jeden nahezu perfekt, luxuriös und ästhetisch scheint, beinhaltet im Unsichtbaren auch Armut und Schmutz. Das Buch schlägt eine Brücke von der Vergangenheit in die Gegenwart.

Die Bilder bestehen aus analogen Fotografien von ihrer Mutter aus dem Jahre 2000 und digitalen Screenshots von Google Street View.

As tourists usually only have paradise in mind, the photo book shows that there are also other sides. What otherwise seems almost perfect, luxurious and aesthetic to everyone also contains poverty and dirt in the unseen. The book builds a bridge from the past to the present.

The images consist of analog photographs taken by her mother in 2000 and digital screenshots from Google Street View.
