From February 5–11, a screen-printing workshop took place in Brussels, led by Lars Harmsen (@posterrex) with third-year Graphic Design students (B3) at ESA Saint-Luc Bruxelles. Around 20 students participated in the intensive program, working on the chosen theme “Adrenaline.” In just two days, more than 200 posters were produced. For many participants, it was their first experience with screen printing, and the excitement for the process quickly became contagious.
The theme Adrenaline was explored in an abstract sense. It addressed how media constantly bombards us, the daily stress of work, and the overwhelming flood of information. At the same time, it reflected the thrill of doing something forbidden in a world where everything seems regulated and nothing is left to chance. The resulting posters ranged from critical to humorous — including one that boldly declared: “Steal at IKEA.”
Special thanks to Nicolas Belayew (publisher, designer, illustrator, printer, and teacher) for the generous invitation to his class. An exhibition of the works will follow.
