The goal of this seminar by Prof. Lars Harmsen was to explore what lies behind everyday objects (from texture, history to sophisticated global supply chains). These objects were then deconstructed and reassembled (new meaning/meta-level).
MA-1 bomber jacket project by Alexander Reinhard
The MA-1 bomber jacket is an American military jacket which was developed in the 1950s by Alpha Industries. The MA-1 were originally produced and needed at that time because the emergence of the jet age created new requirements for pilot performance, safety, and comfort.
Bomber jackets were and are popular in various subcultures, but beyond that they are now an established part of mainstream fashion.
In order to portray the diversity of this contemporary historical object, it is necessary to deconstruct it into its components and visualize the influence of the history as it’s own canvas.
