EXTINCT MOMENTS FLAGS — From Dortmund to Montenegro / FLUID Festival Cetinje
24.-29. April 2026

Before travelling to Belgium and presenting EXTINCT MOMENTS at Papier Carbone in Charleroi, the flag installation had already made an earlier stop in Montenegro, where it was exhibited during the FLUID Design Forum Festival in Cetinje.

Held annually in the historic former royal capital of Montenegro, FLUID has developed into an important platform connecting graphic design, visual communication, education and experimental practices across international contexts. The festival brings together designers, artists, students and educators through exhibitions, lectures, workshops and collaborative formats.

The EXTINCT MOMENTS flag installation was originally developed within the 100 Poster Battle course at FH Dortmund together with guest lecturer Kuki Iwanski from Poland. Rather than approaching posters as static graphic objects, the project transformed visual ideas into large-scale textile forms occupying architectural and public space.

The works revolve around the notion of “extinct moments” — everyday experiences that have quietly disappeared in an increasingly accelerated and optimised culture. Moments that once felt ordinary now feel almost impossible: being unreachable for a while, moving through a city without constant advertising, making decisions without algorithmic influence, speaking face to face without screens nearby, taking undocumented holidays, or maintaining friendships that exist entirely offline.

The presentation at FLUID became an important first international appearance for the project and marked the beginning of an ongoing journey that later continued in Belgium at Papier Carbone and will be shown in Warsaw mid of June 2026.
